Why do I have to complete the survey to enter Invite the Author drawings?

The survey is designed to tell us about your reading group so we can tailor our offerings to suit our reading community's preferences. It also registers your e-mail address and password so that we can administer the drawings and coordinate author visits with optimal efficiency.

How many book groups win the conversation with a featured author?

It varies based on the author's schedule and availability.

Can I ask for any author?

No. Only featured authors are participating.

How does the author interact with us?

Authors participate via telephone with a select number of book groups. A speaker phone works best for the participating book club.

How often do the participating authors change?

Once a month, please see the calendar.

Can I enter more than one author drawing each month?

There's no restriction on the number of authors you can sign up for each month. Do remember that winners are selected at random, and if you were to win all drawings in one month - your group would do more reading than usual. Use your discretion.

Can I unsubscribe from The Savvy Reader newsletter but still be eligible to enter Invite the Author?

Yes. Log in with your username (e-mail address) and password, then click on Edit Your Profile. Scroll to Select Special Offers and change your subscriptions there.

Does winning Invite the Author mean my book club has won copies of the books to read?

No way! HarperCollins arranges for the author phone call but does not supply copies of the books for group members to read. The fact is, we hope you will read the books in anticipation of winning Invite the Author.
